GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Catholic Central boys basketball team has gone this season where no other team in program history has gone before. And despite a disappointing conclusion to an otherwise historical campaign, the Crusaders established a culture of excellence this year, and proved they will be a force in Class B for years to come. Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! "What I want people to remember (about this year) is how hard we played," said Catholic Central head coach Guy Di Bacco after the team's 66-61 loss to Sec. III's Westhill in the NYSPHSAA Boys Basketball Class B championship game Sunday afternoon. "We didn't make any excuses. We didn't back down from any challenges. We were successful more often that not. At some point the season ends, and that is disappointing. I think how hard they played, even in the fourth quarter here, is a testament to their willingness to compete, and their willingness to strive...Ask Amy: My mom’s lie about my high school graduation was the last straw

Dear Amy: I have a very difficult and stressful relationship with my mother, and I don’t know what to do about it.I am 19 years old. My mother is an addict and an alcoholic, and she missed out on much of my early childhood years because of it.When I was around 8, she finally sobered up, but she still has a multitude of psychological problems, most likely stemming from years of substance abuse, and she never really grew up.She only thought about herself. She hurt me over and over again. She put her maternal duties aside and wasn’t there for me.Finally, I had enough when she missed my high school graduation last year. She lied to me about why she had missed it (turns out she was at home the whole time).Related ArticlesAdvice | Ask Amy: I turned down the job because of the interviewer’s question (and the no-pants thing) Advice | Ask Amy: After all my work, she gave me $20. DEAR HARRIETTE: I keep a journal. I have for decades. It’s the way that I get my emotions out and deal with my issues. In the past, any boyfriend I’ve had knew that my journals were off-limits. I trusted that nobody would look at them. Well, that changed recently. My relatively new boyfriend was at my house one afternoon when I wasn’t there. When I got home, I saw that he had gone through my journals. Worse, he confronted me about something he read in one of them. It wasn’t about him. It was about a previous relationship and some of the details of what went wrong. He read a particularly raw entry and got mad at me about the content. I immediately threw him out, telling him he had broken a confidence and it was over. To me, that was a clear violation of trust.I am unwilling to stop journaling in order to protect myself from his prying eyes, nor am I willing to talk to my boyfriend about my past relationships, so what else is left? That’s why I dumped him.He...Compromise saves final season at beloved youth baseball field in Loudoun Co.

Beijing’s “friendship” with Moscow is “growing day by day,” China’s President Xi Jinping said ahead of his three-day trip to Russia, which kicked off Monday. In an op-ed, published in Russian in Rossiyskaya Gazeta on Sunday evening, Xi said he was traveling to Moscow to strengthen “friendship, cooperation and peace” and create “new prospects for Sino-Russia relations.” He continued: “Our two sides are implementing the concept of friendship passed down from generation to generation, and this traditional friendship is growing day by day.”Notably, though, the English-language version of Xi’s op-ed published by China’s state-run People’s Daily doesn’t mention the effusive “day-by-day” line, and more demurely says: “Our two sides have acted on the vision of lasting friendship and steadily strengthened our traditional friendship.”In his own synchronized opinion piece pub...MBTA lifts global speed restriction on Green Line as repairs continue on some tracks
